LEA DÄHNE
CINEMATOGRAPHER
Lea Dähne is part of a young generation of female cinematographers in German cinema who move between artistic auteur filmmaking and commercial film production. Her work focuses on narrative film and advertising. She studied cinematography at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF).
The comedy „Zweigstelle“, directed by Julius Grimm, was Lea Dähnes feature film debut as Director of Photography in 2025 and premiered at the Munich International Film Festival, where it received the National Audience Award.
With the feature film „Run Me Wild“, directed by Catharina Lott, she continued her collaboration with a new generation of female auteur filmmakers. The film premiered in 2026 at the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival, where it screened in the feature film competition. The project also marks the completion of her studies at the HFF Munich.
In addition to her film work, Lea Dähne often takes part in various commercial film productions.

Lea Dähne is currently filming a feature film in Austria with director Bernhard Wohlfahrter.
The family drama centers on the family’s first reunion in a long time. During a pre-Christmas raclette dinner, various family conflicts come to light.

This summer, Lea Dähne is shooting a feature film with FreibeuterFilm, directed by Vivian Bausch.
It’s a coming-of-age story about 11-year-old Kathi, set in the Auwiesen neighborhood on the outskirts of Linz. Wearing an oversized military jacket and with her eyebrows shaved off, she struggles through a summer filled with challenges and desires.
