ALEXANDRA BRODSKI

DIRECTOR/WRITER

Alexandra Brodski is a German-Russian writer and director based in London. She writes and directs film and TV in the UK, Germany, and Russia, she trained at the National Film and Television School in London.

In 2018, Brodski was selected as one of 8 directors for the Les Arcs Talent Village with an early iteration of her project “Joy,” which she developed further with the support of Danish director Thomas Vinterberg. “Joy” then was funded by Film4 and Pia-Pressure and premiered as a short film at the BFI London Film Festival in October 2021.
Alex directed the four final episodes of the Channel 4 commissioned eight-part drama “Somewhere Boy” and the Disney+ commissioned eight-part drama “Rivals.”
Her debut feature “KISA” with Film4 and producer Sabina Smitham was selected for the Torino Script Lab 2023.

All of Alexandra Brodski’s projects share an interest in international stories, an exploration of questions of identity, and relationships within different societal systems. She is a selected participant of BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew 2021.

Alex Brodski is currently in postproduction on the Disney+ commissioned eight-part drama “Rivals,” based on the novel by Jill Cooper and produced by Happy Prince.

Somewhere Boy

Alex Brodski directed four episodes of the Channel 4 commissioned eight-part drama “Somewhere Boy,” produced by “The-End-Of-The-F**ing-World”/“Misfits”/“The Duchess” producers Clerkenwell Films & BBC Studios, and written by Pete Jackson. The series premiered in October 2022 on Channel 4, with all episodes available to stream in the Uk on All 4.
