DIRECTOR/WRITER
Jan-Eric Mack was trained as graphic designer before studying directing at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). His Master film “Facing Mecca” won the Swiss Film Award, a Student Academy Award and made it to the shortlist of the 90th Academy Awards.
In 2019, Mack shot the 3rd season of the successful drama series “Wilder” for Swiss Television SRF. In 2023, he completed the series “Davos 1917” which premiered at the Zurich Film Festival in October 2023 and was broadcast on Swiss Television SRF and ARD in December 2023.
Based in Zurich, he works as a director and writer.

A HAPPY FAMILY
Jan-Eric Mack co-wrote and directed “A Happy Family,” a feature film from Zurich-based film producer C-FILMS in co-production with
Swiss Radio and Television and distributed by DCM Film. “A Happy Family” is currently in postproduction and planned for the 4th quarter 2026.
“Despite juggling two jobs, Niki is always short of money and her life is under constant supervision by the social services.
When her two children accidentally set the kitchen on fire, they are placed in the care of a foster family. Despite a restraining order,
Niki finds them at the other end of Switzerland. With a new identity, she secretly participates in her children’s lives.
When Niki is on the verge of being exposed, their only option is to flee.”
