NINA WOLFRUM
DIRECTOR/WRITER
Nina Wolfrum is a German director and writer known for emotionally precise, visually controlled storytelling and a strong focus on character, tension and moral complexity.
She earned her Master of Arts in Theater, Film, and Television Studies, German Studies, and Sociology at the University of Cologne. She completed advanced training seminars in dramaturgy at the HFF Munich and the IHK Fiction Producing course at the Filmhaus Cologne. She received further training in acting direction and scene work from the acting teacher Ivana Chubbuck in Detroit.
Nina Wolfrum’s work includes episodes of flagship German crime series including ”Tatort“ and ”Nord by Nordwest,” among others. In 2021, she directed the seven-part drama series “Gestern waren wir noch Kinder/ Dear Vivi,“ which was nominated for the German Television Award 2023 and won the Audience Award for Most Popular Series at the Blauer Panther TV & Streaming Awards 2023.
Her recent projects include the drama thriller series “Mord auf dem Inka-Pfad/ Murder on the Inca Trail” and the historical drama series “Schwarzes Gold/ Black Gold,” further expanding her range across premium serial formats.
Wolfrum’s work is distinguished by psychological precision, strong narrative drive, and a deep sensitivity for cinematic storytelling.
