STEFANIE REN

Stefanie Ren was born in 1987 in Pingtung/Taiwan. She studied screenwriting at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg where her short films won over 70 awards, including screenings in Cannes at Short Tiger and a nomination for the German Short Film Award.
She was head writer of RTL sitcom "Nicht tot zu kriegen", which was nominated for the German Comedy Award 2017 as best series. Her first feature film "Cleo" had its world premiere at Berlinale 2019 and was nominated for best screenplay award "Kindertiger".
Her Netflix film "For Jojo" had its premiere at Filmfest München 2022 and was nominated for the Bernd Burgemeister TV Production Award.
Ren was head writer of Thriller/Drama "A Thin Line," a Paramount+ series, which had its premiere at Series Mania Festival 2023 in Lille.
Stefanie and co-writer Franziska Hoenisch were nominated at renowned Thomas StrittmatterScreenplay Award 2023 for their upcoming horror feature "Babette".
Ren’s most recent project, the mystery series "House of Yang" where she took on the roles of creator, showrunner, and sole writer, received the SWR prize "Tief im Südwesten" and is set for release on ARD Mediathek soon.
She is currently part of the FIRST STEPS Awards screenplay Jury and hosts the podcast "Writer's Statement" in collaboration with Fitore Muzaqi.
Ren is a mentor at Serial Eyes and a member of the German Film Academy.

Stefanie Ren’s series "House of Yang," was awarded with the prize "Tief im Südwesten" by SWR and is currently in Post-Production but is set to be released soon on ARD Mediathek.
