MARTIN SCHLECHT

CINEMATOGRAPHER

Martin Schlecht is a cinematographer based in Berlin. His work includes successful feature films such as “Honig im Kopf” directed by Til Schweiger and the award-winning films “Traumfabrik” by Martin Schreier, “Amelie rennt” and “Into the beat – Dein Herz tanzt.”

One of Martin Schlecht’s latest work, the film adaptation of the novel “Der Pfad,“ directed by Tobias Wiemann, won the German Film Award for Best Children’s Film and premiered in theaters in 2022.

In 2022, he shot the romantic comedy "Trauzeugen" directed by Lena May Graf and Finn C. Stroeks, in which László Branko Breiding took one of the leading roles. In the same year, he was DoP of the children's feature film "Kannawoniwasein". Both films were released in theaters in 2023.

In 2023, Schlecht shot the feature film "Real Life Guys," a tragicomedy that tells the true story of siblings who run a YouTube channel.

He is the director of photography for the second and third season of the Amazon Original series "Maxton Hall," by director Martin Schreier based on the award-winning German novel trilogy by Mona Kasten. The series has been available worldwide on Prime Video since May 2024 and recorded "the largest global audience for a non-US title" on Prime Video in its first week. It took first place in the Prime Video charts in over 120 countries.
