WRITER

Arend Remmers is a German screenwriter, creator and head writer working in both German and English. His work spans cinema and television, moving between drama, comedy, mystery and high-concept genre storytelling.

His feature credits include “Unsere Zeit ist jetzt,” the black comedy “Schneeflöckchen”, the tragicomic love story “Traumfabrik” and the international action film “Boy Kills World”, starring Bill Skarsgård and produced by Sam Raimi. The film grew out of an original idea he developed with director Moritz Mohr and was co-written by Remmers.

For television, Remmers has worked on series including Netflix’s “Dogs of Berlin,” “Sløborn,” and “Ze-Network,” which was nominated for the Grimme Award in 2023. He is also the co-creator and head writer of the mystery series “Oderbruch.” In that role, he oversaw the scripts for both seasons and wrote or co-wrote every episode.

Remmers is known for a collaborative, director-focused approach to screenwriting. His work is driven not only by character and plot, but by atmosphere, specific scene work, visual energy and tonal precision.

Across a wide range of genres, he is drawn to stories that merge heightened cinematic concepts with a grounded sense of reality — finding the emotional truth inside genre and the genre potential inside the real world.

Arend Remmers is represented by Patricia Barona.
